About Imagery In Motion Dance
Founder & Director
Ambrely Barrett
Hello There!
I am the founder and director of Imagery In Motion. I often get asked how long I’ve been dancing, well let’s just say It all started with a three-year-old, a tutu, a bag, and “ballerina shoes” and has been a part of my life since. I currently teach classes in our recreational program along with classes for our competitive teams. You will find me going from class to class, usually with a messy bun and an iced latte in hand, and of course, see me make the occasional pit stop by the office to pet our pups and studio mascots Rosie and Wellington.
I have had the opportunity to train and work with some amazing teachers and choreographers. My favorite memory would have to be the time I was able to work with the incredible Russ Tamblyn aka Riff from the original West Side Story. I love teaching and watching students grow from little milestones to big! Without aging myself too much I would like to share that I have had the pleasure of assisting and teaching dance for 28 years!
In that time I have watched my students achieve their goals from learning how to do a leap, to highest-scoring acts at competitions, from being shy to becoming leaders as officers in their high school dance teams. Students have gone on to attend top college dance programs, become part of college and pro dance teams and dance in their dream professional dance companies. I have seen my students grow into incredible humans, with humble hearts, and have had the pleasure of working beside them as studio staff.
My favorite thing about owning a dance studio is knowing how much joy dance brings us all. I am so grateful for our amazing dance families past, present, and future and words can not express how thankful I am that you choose and trust Imagery In Motion with your child's dance training and personal development.
Our Philosophy
At Imagery In Motion, we believe that dance is for everyone. We encourage our dancers to believe in themselves, dance with confidence, and let their light shine from within.

When we first opened our doors, twelve years ago, we wanted to select a studio name that would represent our dancers and the studio culture we wanted to create.
We are proud to say we successfully live up to our name.

Imagery In Motion is committed to providing a safe space for dancers of all ages and skill levels to learn and grow their love of dance.
